How to Build a Personal Website in 2022

I write this post to share where my inspiration for building a personal website and how I built it (with little effort).

What inspires me to build a personal website

Many amazing personal websites of course and this Youtube video by Ali Abdaal:

I was inspired to build a personal website because simply I want to share something meaningful to me. Just like what he said in this video, you don't have to be very good at something to start writing. In fact, I believe that every process starts in a rather immature way, but you have to kick it off.

So far, I have posted an article per week to log my learning journey. There are 17 posts now. I am very happy to develop this new habit. I also want to see myself posting one article per week in the next two years. This is a callback to the above video :)

Besides, I will also create a separate page to showcase my professional portfolio for potential employers.

Alright, these are basically what motivated me to build a personal website.

How I built my personal website

After watching this video, I took action right away.

Here I will show you some main steps I took. For more detailed information, the video above and Google are your friends.

First, I bought a website domain name through the Google domain.
Second, I hosted my personal website on the Ghost and personalized it through its portal.
Last but not least, I started creating my content and fulfilled my website.
